Driven by the hope that she can help others, and make the world perhaps a little nicer than it was. While she may seem innocent, and perhaps a little naive, she has a reasonable amount of experience when it comes to the world.She worked as an EMT for three years before being drawn to wander, and try to find herself. She is compassionate, and will do everything within her power to help someone. Patient, and understanding, but very capable of standing up to someone she feels is being unreasonable.She will always seek to find a non-violent solution where tension is high. Capable of being quite diplomatic where it may be needed, willing to listen to both sides and find a resolution.River tries not to judge people. She understands everyone is different, and come from different backgrounds. With her former occupation, that lesson was driven hard into her. She believes there is good in everyone. It just takes a little more effort sometimes, to find it.

BackgroundRiver was originally born in Longyearbyen on the Svalbard Island in Norway. Her real parents left her in the care of trusted friends to raise her as their own. Leading others to believe that she was Gemischt to disguise the fact she was actually the last Echt of her family line.As an infant, she was given a pendent on a necklace that was cross-like, with strings of silver vines ensnared about it as if to bind something within it. It was explained to her that it was a family heirloom passed down through multiple generations. Something to be cherished, and kept hidden so not to lose it. It held another purpose though. It altered her reiatsu; hid her from those sensitive to things beyond normal humans. A gift blessed by a Nordic 'witch', which would ultimately be the one thing that had saved her from being discovered.Her family had loved their relatively remote life near to the north pole. Few full time residents resided around the town which offered them a great deal of privacy and opportunity to remain off the radar. However something had happened when she was a little girl. Her parents had become spooked by an event outside of their control. One that seemed to affect a large majority of Quincy. It was jarring enough that they would pick up, and move again. Abandoning the life they had in favor of one in America.Extended family gathered to discuss River's future. While still quite young, she was kept out of the loop to try and keep her safe from the reality of her situation. They kept her hidden for the first few years of her life in America, homeschooling her and teaching her the essentials of life in this new country.River was given a chance to learn martial arts as a side study while being homeschooled, and through her time in public highschool. She opted to learn Kyusho-Jitsu as a specialty along with a mixture of other similar styles to combine them into one she preferred.Midway through highschool, River was given an opportunity to explore her possible career choices. She was immediately drawn to EMT/Paramedics and quickly sought to learn everything she could to get started.She officially began her training at the age of 17, often spending her evenings after school shadowing actual EMTs and learning as much as she could. By the time she had turned 18, she was full blown into the career. It was something she had become incredibly dedicated to. Her parents were so proud of her, and her success. This was something she was determined to do well into retirement - until tragedy derailed her goals, and threw her onto a new path.Losing her parents very suddenly, and without explanation was more than she could bear. She was left to a lonely home, feeling isolated and withdrawn from everyone. Her extended family wouldn't speak on their theories surrounding it. What few had survived the last decade. There were too many secrets. Too many unknowns. She found herself thrown into a toxic mindset that would eventually force her to abandon her life in America to go exploring. A wanderlust driving her towards a truth she desperately wanted to comprehend.River would eventually find her way to Japan. Searching to try and understand herself, and grasp the things she knows her parents had kept from her for so many years.

==MAIN ==

River has succumb to her wanderlust, driving her to find something she felt has been missing in her life since the beginning. She isn't sure what it is she'll find, or if she'll ever stop.After the loss of her parents, it's been gnawing at the back of her mind. This calling she can't manage to quite escape. Looking at it in a more positive light - she sees it as an opportunity to not only find herself, but to also discover new things in the world. Experience life, and perhaps help people along the wayEventually she hopes she might return to her job as an EMT, or perhaps settle down and open a candy shop making Norwegian sweets. Perhaps raising a family of her own.With the future so entirely unpredictable, she focuses instead on what she can do in the presence. Perhaps something will happen to guide her where she needs to go.
